You are invited to the 34th Annual VMATYC Virtual Conference
To be held remotely via Zoom
Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd, 2021
VMATYC 2021 Virtual Conference: https://vmatyc-2021.heysummit.com/
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 concerns, the 2021 conference is moving to a virtual format. But, we still expect to have a vibrant, dynamic meeting, with an excellent keynote speaker and numerous informative presentations. We are excited to announce that Dr. Dave Urso, Academic Dean BRCC and CEO, will be the keynote speaker. Dave Urso has been teaching seminars and developing leaders for almost 18 years. In that time, he has developed an approach that sets him apart. His naturally energetic and interactive style carries over into his sessions and makes listening to him a pleasure. No matter the context of your interaction, two things are guaranteed – he is going to talk fast and he is going to do something unexpected!
VMATYC is looking for presenters for this year’s conference. With changes continuing to come from the VCCS, there are many things to present and discuss. Please consider presenting or conducting a workshop or roundtable. How has the pandemic changed your teaching? Please share your experiences. What pedagogies have you found successful in your support and credit courses? What technologies are you using to improve student success? Please share projects that you are using in your courses or something that you found valuable to share with colleagues. Presenter applications were due October 10 to guarantee a spot on the program. (If you have a late proposal, please contact the conference chair directly to determine if adding a talk to the schedule is still possible).
There is no cost to attend this virtual conference, but registration is required. A conference schedule and directions for joining the sessions will be sent by email shortly before the meeting begins. In lieu of the usual registration fee, we ask that you consider donating to our Glen Fox Scholarship fund. Also, if you are not a current VMATYC member, joining or renewing is encouraged, but not required to attend the meeting. Register for the meeting here: Fall Conference Registration.
If you registered prior to the change to virtual format, any registration fee paid will be refunded, and you do not need to complete the registration form again.
