Fall 2021 Conference

You are invited to the 34th Annual VMATYC Conference at
The Holiday Inn at Tanglewood in Roanoke
Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd, 2021

With the help of Virginia Western CC, in Roanoke, VA, we will be hosting the 2021 Virginia Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges Conference.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Dave Urso, Academic Dean BRCC and CEO, will be the keynote speaker. Dave Urso has been teaching seminars and developing leaders for almost 18 years. In that time, he has developed an approach that sets him apart. His naturally energetic and interactive style carries over into his sessions and makes listening to him a pleasure. No matter the context of your interaction, two things are guaranteed – he is going to talk fast and he is going to do something unexpected!

VMATYC is looking for presenters for this year’s conference. With changes continuing to come from the VCCS, there are many things to present and discuss. Please consider presenting or conducting a workshop or roundtable. How has the pandemic changed your teaching? Please share your experiences. What pedagogies have you found successful in your support and credit courses? What technologies are you using to improve student success? Please share projects that you are using in your courses or something that you found valuable to share with colleagues. Presenter applications must be submitted by October 10 to guarantee a spot on the program. The presenter application form is available here: Presenter Application Form.

The conference registration fee is $40 for all VMATYC members or any state AMATYC affiliate member. The conference registration fee for any non-VMATYC member is $65, which includes the $25 VMATYC membership fee. The online registration form is available here: Fall Conference Registration.
